Looking through the list of brands I was stuck between 2 brands. Tom Ford and Givenchy. But instead of being indecisive and repeating my mistakes by not doing enough research I decided to go with Tom Ford. My instinct was screaming GIVENCHY but as I think thats a typical reaction and most designs will be inspired by that brand I had to challange myself with the unknown and explore my options.
About Tom Ford
August 27, 1961 in Austin, in the family of realtors Tom Ford and Shirley Bunton, was a son, Tom Jr. At the age of just 17 , Tom started his own life - he moved to New York. There he enrolled in the Faculty of Arts of the local university, but soon dropped out and decided that he wanted to deal with architecture and enrolled in design school. He later moved to Paris to complete his education. In 1986, Tom went back to New York, where he began working with designer Cathy Hardwick, and later went to work for Perry Ellis.In 1990, Ford moved to Milan and soon began working on the label Gucci as a designer of women's line and it was during it has been gaining popularity. After a couple of years Tom has appointed creative director of the fashion house. In 2000, Gucci bought the YSL, so since Tom Ford also led this division of the company. However, maestro Yves Saint Laurent did not approve of the work of Ford, but its consumers outfits relished. Even before working in the major fashion houses, Tom was famous and recognized. In 1996, the Council of Fashion Designers of America named him designer of the year, and a year People magazine and said his appearance: he joined the list of most beautiful people in the world.Although his sexual orientation (Ford - a homosexual, and he monogamous - with his partner Richard Buckley, he lived for more than 20 years), Tom returned true women to the podium, abandoning the so popular in the 1990s style of "unisex". As of late, he has shot the front of Numero Russia's March 2014 version and a publication forCR Fashion Book's mid year 2014 release close by his Tom Ford excellence and mainline crusade for spring 2014.
Ford has assembled acknowledgment all through his career spreading over 28 years, gathering honors, for example, the CDFA International award, Board of Directors Special Tribute and 2008 Designer of the year, named in the 2011Timetop 100 list of influential, four VH-1/VogueFashion Awards, two ACE recompenses from the US Accessory Council,GQman of the year award in 2000, the Andre Leon Talley Lifetime Achievement Award from the Savannah College of Art and Design and was named for a BFA Designer Brand Award in 2012.
Tom Ford now lives in his Los Angeles, London or Santa Fe with his spouse Richard Buckley and their child Alexander John Buckley Ford.
