Areas of Study:
- The role of the photographer, stylist, fashion designer, make up and hair designer in relation to the rest of a creative team, and in commercial and creative contexts.
- The development of an idea from initial concept to final execution; research techniques and sources.
- Organizational aspects of working with a make-up and hair design team.
- The relationship between lighting, post production, make-up and hair design and styling; how they complement or restrict one another.
- Construction and editing of images for fashion and beauty industry
- The presentation of ideas through verbal and visual media
- Giving appropriate critical feedback.
We will also have a 2 hour Timed Assessment doing one of our Catwalk Make-up & Hair designs inspired by the brand of choice. We will have to demonstrate professionalism, creative knowledge and skills. Health and safety, organizational skills and taking good care of the model as usual will be a big part of the assessment. We will have to submit 2 images (face on and side) of the finished look, make-up and hair designs,facecharts and 2 moodboards, one showing the mood of the look and one showing the make-up and styling inspirations.
